No dragons have been ridden, and no animals or dragons have been harmed in any way in this book. Human characters, on the other hand, weren’t all so lucky! There’s no romance, but quite some fast-paced action and whimsical scenery. This book contains some non-gratuitous violence and deals with certain mature topics that may be triggering to some readers. Non-gratuitous violence: deaths (Duh, the word “killer” is in the title!), potentially graphic bodily harm (e.g, blades, gunshots, choking, burning, blunt force), brief descriptions of torture.
Emotional manipulation
Non-consensual mind control (one brief instance happening to an adult villain)
Mentions of an adult villain having been intimate with a minor. Though there’s no graphic sexual content, this topic is discussed (without being glorified) when a survivor confronts their abuser after many years. I’ve done my best to handle this topic with sensitivity, especially for my own experiences as a survivor. Nevertheless, I caution readers who may find this topic particularly triggering.
Mention of childhood trauma, including the death of a parent, physical punishment (beating), and abuse.
Suicide (a character orders their own death to escape their destiny)
